Hearth and Market wood fired food truck and mobile farmers market was 'kickstarted' with the support of a passionate and committed grassroots Kickstarter community.
Gaining popularity and support on Kickstarter throughout December 2015, Hearth and Market has gathered backers from all over the country and generated funds to support bringing their organic produce and meals to cities in the Midwest, and shelf stable products nationally through their online store.
Hearth and Market is brought to you by Live Station Farm in Southwest Michigan, a group of long time Chicago residents that include artists, designers and chefs continually searching for the best, most nutrient rich, organic food. In addition to curating, growing and preparing the wood fired pizzas, bread and desserts, they also produce food products like maple syrup and vinegar, as well as make and share tools they use in their kitchen such as oak rolling pins, cutting boards and dough bowls.
The food truck and mobile market, a renovated 1973 Airstream, is the vehicle for which they will bring this healthy and delicious food to people regionally, to share the experience, as well as create a dialog around current food issues such as the need for young farmers and the importance of retaining heritage farm processes. They will be at the Green City Market in the West Loop of Chicago every Saturday next summer, and also have several events booked such as local 'chef takeovers' and kickoff events, including a collaboration with Arcade Brewery in late June in Chicago.
